Garfield County
Garfield County commissioners are Dean Burton, Wynne McCabe and Robert Johnson. With all present Monday commissioners:
- SERVICES: Met with Pomeroy mayor Alan Gould to discuss possibility of combining some boards and services. Planning and zoning boards and building inspection services were suggested.
- PSE: Discussed progress of BPA substation on Hagen Road with Jay Takemura of Puget Sound Energy. Hagen Road is being upgraded and a private road will be constructed to the substation.
- BIDS: Opened two bids for oil for chip seal projects. One bidder is Western States Asphalt Inc. of Spokane, who bid $542 per ton for 160 tons of CRS-2P and $553.63 per ton for 62 tons of HF-150. The other bidder, Idaho Asphalt Inc. of Hauser, Idaho, bid $514.50 per ton for CRS-2P. Commissioners referred the bids to the county engineer for review.
- EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: Approved transferring $4,200 from administration to equipment purchases in the Emergency Management budget, as proposed by Emergency Management Director Clay Barr. Unanimous.
