Children's reading circle at Fort Walla Walla Museum

Fort Walla Walla Museum, 755 Myra Road, continues its new children's reading circle program, Tales o' the Trail, at 1 p.m. Sunday. Volunteer Catherine Anderson will read aloud from "Apples to Oregon" by Deborah Hopkinson and illustrator Nancy Carpenter. A craft activity will help occupy small hands during this half-hour session designed for kids ages 4-9.

Following at 2 p.m. is the Living History performance. Galen Tom portrays Chinese immigrant and translator Charles Tung at the pioneer settlement or indoors in the Grand Hall in the event of inclement weather.

Fort Walla Walla Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily through October. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors 62 and up and students, $3 for children 6-12 and free for children under 6.
