TEKOA - Waitsburg-Prescott tallied twin wins here Saturday in Southeast 2B softball action. W-P downed Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia, 6-4 and 14-3.
Kazmira Grende surrendered four runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking only one in the early game. Jen Nichols gave up three runs on four hits, struck out one and walked four in the mercy-rule-shortened nightcap.
W-P put T-O-R away in the second inning of game two with nine runs. W-P was up 14-0 after four-and-a-half.
"We started out really strong then fell asleep offensively (in game one)," W-P coach Angie Potts said.
The sweep sends W-P to 10-10 on the season, 10-2 in league and assures it of second place in the Southeast 2B.
W-P is idle until May 21, when it faces the winner of the fourth place-fifth place game at the district tournament at TRAC in Pasco.
