PENDLETON - Mac-Hi golfers headed to Wildhorse for the first day of Greater Oregon League district play Monday.
Four boys and one girl played for the Pioneers. Only the boy's scores were available at press time.
Mac-Hi had a team score of 476 on the par 72 course, good for fourth and last place in the GOL.
Matt Hair carded 99, Will Riley 112, Angel Palacios 128 and Brandon Ferroni 137.
"(Monday's) weather at the beginning of the round didn't help our scoring all," said golf coach Elizabeth Ellis. "But I am pleased to say that all the boys improved on the back nine from the front. I just hope that (today) we start strong and continue to improve."
Ellis would like all the boys to take at least 10 strokes off their first-day scores.
"We'd need that to put up a decent team score (today)," she said.
La Grande led the GOL with 345. Baker was second at 380, Ontario third at 412 and Mac-Hi fourth with 476.
