WALLA WALLA - WWCC split a doubleheader with Yakima Valley here Saturday, winning the first 7-3 and losing the second 8-3.
The split evens WWCC's record at 14-14 in the East Region and earn a 4th place finish in the NWACC.
The record sends the Warriors into a playoff berth at Columbia Basin.
"I'm happy for the guys," WWCC coach Dave Meliah said. "They dealt with some adversity this year and have given themselves a chance to win an NWAACC championship,"
In game one, the Warriors rallied to a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning, then Anthony Nice hit a grand slam to make it 7-3.
The score held as Brett Watson pitched five innnings for the win and Nick Jordan finished the game for the save.
Colby Melburn had four hits in the game.
WWCC used four pitchers in game two and gave up eight runs in total.
The score was tied in the first inning on a Glen Reser 2-run single in the bottom of the inning.
Anthony Nice had four hits in the doubleheader, while Melburn had five.
Game time for the playoffs has not been announced.
The Warriors overall record is even, at 22-22.
