YAKIMA - Wa-Hi's girls failed to qualify any golfers to the state tournament at district play at the Elks Golf Course here Monday.
Richland's Kristin Strankman was medalist with a 76 on the par-74 course. The sophomore led a five-player Bomber contingent among the 11-player field advancing to state.
A round of 92 turned out to be the cutoff to advance.
Kylar Boggs shot a 104 to lead Wa-Hi's girls.
"We were hoping some of our girls could make a run at it, and Kylar was one of the them," Blue Devils girls coach Mike Patterson said. "You need your ‘A' game to get in the top 11 spots, and we didn't do it."
Richland won the team scores with a 336. The Bombers were followed by Eastmont, Wenatchee, Kamiakin, Chiawana, Eisenhower, Moses Lake, Southridge, Wa-Hi, Pasco, Kennewick and Davis.
Joining Boggs in team-counting scores for Wa-Hi included Allexa Kaylor at 107, Amanda Halazon 117 and Brittany Hodgen 118. Cassie Patterson had a non-counting 122.
"Even though we didn't qualify anyone to state, it was a great season for the kids," coach Patterson said. "They progressed and practiced hard, which made it a very enjoyable experience."
