Program helps trace German ancestry

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Milton-Freewater Public Library, 8 S.W. Eighth Ave., will present a program to assist those seeking to trace their German ancestry at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Albee Room.

Diane Biggs, director of Frazier Farmstead Museum, has tracked down her German ancestors. Based on her own experiences, she will give some guidance on how to conduct such a search. In her 25 years at the museum, Biggs learned about the history of the Frazier family and developed a curiosity about her own genealogy. Because her ancestors immigrated from Germany her research took her to the records from that country.

The program was organized by Sandy Nelson, the library staff member responsible for genealogy and local history services.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. For more information, call 541-938-8247.
