PENDLETON -- Volunteers are being sought to spend all or part of the summer as hosts at three Umatilla National Forest campsites in Oregon.
Individuals or couples are needed for the Jubilee Lake Campground about 12 miles northeast of Tollgate, Olive Lake Campground about 10 miles of Granite and Frazier Campground about 12 miles east of Ukiah.
In a release, Jeff Bloom, recreation specialist for the Walla Walla Ranger District, said camp hosts will be asked to provide information on the area, visit with campers and visitors, clean and maintain rest rooms, restock supplies and carry out other tasks.
"They keep an eye on things and set a good example for others in the campground," said Bloom.
Applicants will need to supply their own tent, trailer, camper or motor home. Hosts will be provided a campsite, usually near the main entryway to the campground. A food allowance is offered, as is reimbursement for propane. Volunteers may be subject to a criminal background check, Bloom said.
