Where: The Walla Walla Public School's new support services facility is relocating to 1162 Entley St. from its current site at 325 S. Park St. The project begins the second phase of developing a new Transportation Cooperative and Support Services center. The Support Services facility will house the print shop, building and grounds maintenance, warehouse, HVAC and food services.
Timeline: Walla Walla School District Communication Manager Mark Higgins said the first part of the project, the Transportation Cooperative facility, should be ready by July. The second phase should be complete by February or March 2011.
Financing: Higgins said it's a nearly $10 million project funded by state matching funds, so it does not raise local bond rates. "We can celebrate that," he said. In the long run, Higgins said, the facility will improve efficiency and be much more cost effective.
