DAYTON -- Oregon artist Rod Frederick will be at the Wenaha Gallery Saturday for an artist's reception from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Frederick is a prolific wildlife/landscape artist who grew up in Portland in a house filled with animals, with a mother who has a degree in fine arts and an attorney father who was a weekend painter.

Frederick's dedication to realism causes him to devour many sources of reading material about a particular species, photograph and sketch. He spends large amounts of time researching his subjects in their natural environment.

A selection of Frederick's fine art limited edition prints on paper and canvas as well as original works will be on display at the reception.

The Wenaha Gallery is located at 219 E. Main St.
