DAYTON -- Columbia County Prosecuting Attorney Rea Culwell credited voters' educating themselves for her win over challenger Randy Lewis for the prosecutor's office.
Culwell received 1,073 votes, or 53 percent to Lewis' 937, or 47 percent of votes cast.
The voting outcome was nearly a reversal of the primary, when Lewis received 52 percent of the votes, to Culwell's 48 percent.
"I think the voters just educated themselves about our education and experience," Culwell said after results were in Tuesday.
Lewis was not available for comment Tuesday night.
Culwell said she plans to continue with what she's already started in creating a child advocacy center, and will being applying for a drug-free community grant that could be worth $10 million over 10 years.
