POMEROY -- Incumbent Garfield County treasurer Karen Roosevelt outdistanced her challenger, Lynette Fisher, by a vote of 698, or 62 percent, to 431, or 38 percent. Roosevelt was the county's deputy treasurer for 18 1/2 years before being appointed treasurer in 2009. She ran unopposed in November 2009 for the unexpired term of her predecessor. "I just want to thank the people, because I couldn't have done it without them. I'm glad to get the position back. In her first full term in office, Roosevelt said she is hoping to get "the property tax program up and running well. And I'm hoping to get the tax statements changed, so they look a little better."
