WALLA WALLA - Jillian Davis, a first-year outside hitter on the Whitman College volleyball team, has netted Northwest Conference's weekly volleyball honors after leading the Missionaries to a pair of victories last Friday and Saturday.

Davis, who averaged 3.8 kills and 4.2 digs in last weekend's two five-set wins, was named NWC Student-Athlete of the Week for women's volleyball.

With Davis serving as its primary offensive weapon and one of its key defenders, a young Whitman team has won five of its last eight games.

For the season, Davis leads the NWC in kills per game (3.67) and ranks eighth in digs per game (3.63). With 338 kills in 23 matches, she is the only player in the conference with more than 300 kills.

Davis has reached double digits in kills and digs in 15 of her 23 matches this season.
