Merilisa Hurst, 52, of Dayton, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at St. Mary Medical Center. The memorial funeral service will be held at Dayton United Brethren Church, 1106 S 4th St., Dayton, on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Brownell officiating. Private family interment will be at a later date at Dayton City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Austin Kimmons account at the Dayton Bank of America.
Merilisa was born July 25, 1958, to Dorothy Hunt McCauley and Rex Hurst. She went to Dayton High School and graduated in 1976. She received her AA from Walla Walla Community College in 1979. She
worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 15 years, Dayton General Hospital and did home health care.
Merilisa was always willing to help all. She had a beautiful voice, was a wonderful mother, played guitar, was always the life of the party and was a loving daughter and sister.
She is survived by her son, Austin Mikel Kimmons of Dayton; mother, Dorothy McCauley, Dayton; four sisters, Sharon Smith (Bill), Prescott, Anita Thomas (Skip), Ft. Scott, Kan., Cheryl Stubbs (Lloyd), Kuna, Idaho, Kathy Hooper, Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers, Richard Hurst (Betty), Spokane, Mike McCauley, Knoxville, Tenn., Squire McCauley (Joanie), St. Cloud, Fla.; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father, Rex Hurst; step-father, MP (Sonny) McCauley; and her twin brother, Mikel Hurst.
