COLFAX - Pomeroy's volleyball team scored a pair of wins Saturday in Colfax to advance in the playoffs with victories over Garfield-Palouse and St. John-Endicott.
The opening match was the first of a pair of dominating matches for the Pirates as they rolled to a 25-10, 25-21, 25-16 win before defeating St. John-Endicott 25-10, 25-13, 25-16.
"This was probably the best volleyball we've played all year," said Pomeroy head coach Bruce Crossfield. "We were coming off a tough loss on Wednesday so to bounce back like this makes me very proud of our team."
Kindsey Bott led the team with 12 kills and went 27-for-28 from the service line with nine aces. Kayla Morgan added 10 kills and Dalaney Monahan chipped in nine with nine stuff blocks.
Melissa Bartlow went 23-for-24 serving with four aces, while HayLee Koller was 19-for-20.
The win punches Pomeroy's ticket to Yakima in the next round of the postseason.
"We're in this to win it," Pomeroy said. "Our girls are focused on moving forward."
