WALLA WALLA -- The Walla Walla Native Plant club will feature ecologist Timothy Parker at its November meeting.
The event is open to all and will be Wednesday, 7 p.m. at the Whitman College Hall of Science, in Room 142 near the greenhouse.
Parker will discuss invasive plants and the loss of natural habitat and wildlife in Wallula Gap, an area recognized as a national natural landmark.
He'll talk about native and non-native plant community dynamics at the newly-created Wallula Gap Biological Station.
The project involves long-term monitoring of a series of sites, in order to improve the understanding of invasive species and plant community dynamics in this unique area.
