PREP VOLLEYBALL — Pomeroy volleyball team falls to Colton Saturday

YAKIMA - Colton ended Pomeroy's run at the Washington Class 1B State Volleyball Championships with a 26-24, 25-19, 25-22 victory over the Pirates at the SunDome here Friday morning.

Pomeroy opened the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Wilbur-Creston Thursday morning, but bounced back to sweep past Crescent in the afternoon to face Colton Friday.

Colton defeated Klickitat, 3-1, to take the state's fifth-place trophy, while Klickitat took the eighth-place hardware.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline had little trouble with Christian Faith in the State championship match, sweeping to the title.
