$n$ Wreckage spotted believed to be of missing plane

WALLA WALLA - The Civil Air Patrol has spotted wreckage believed to be that of a plane missing since Sunday, according to a news release.

The aircraft has been missing since leaving the Walla Walla Regional Airport on Sunday en route to Enterprise.

Umatilla Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue is coordinating ground searchers to examine the wreckage and ensure this is the missing aircraft, according to the release.

Umatilla County Emergency Management has activated its Emergency Operations Center, and Stanfield Fire is taking the planning section lead. Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Emergency Management, fire, and police are deploying resources as well.

Oregon Emergency Management led the initial search and coordinated air resources including Civil Air Patrol from Walla Walla and Oregon National Guard.
