WALLA WALLA - Local Civil Air Patrol members are helping search for a missing plane in Oregon today.
Lt. Col. Richard Shortridge, the CAP incident commander, said a mission base was set up at 8 p.m. Sunday at Walla Walla Regional Airport. Several CAP aircraft were slated for possible flights over the search area this morning.
In a release, Shortridge said searchers will be covering an area extending 30 miles south-south east of Pendleton. No information on the type of aircraft, how many people were aboard or its flight plan have been released at this time.
