Columbia County commissioners are Chuck Reeves, Dwight Robanske and Dick Jones. With all present Monday:
- BID OPENING: Opened three bids for fuel for 2011 to 2015. Bids were referred to the county engineer for recommendation.
- HEARING: Following public hearings on the 6-year Transportation Improvement Program and the 2011 road construction program, approved both programs. Unanimous.
- ROAD CLOSURES: Passed resolution setting road closures for certain county roads as conditions merit. Unanimous.
- DISTRICT COURT: Judge Scott Marinella requested information technology and hardware be upgraded for the court. Also discussed cell phone stipend and indigent defense. A request for proposals for the indigent defense position has been advertised.
- 4-H PROGRAM: Heard updates by 4-H coordinator Carla Rowe.
- DISPATCH: Discussed dispatch with Emergency Management director Bill Peters.
- DEFENSE: Approved contract with the Office of Public Defense for public defense funding. Unanimous.
- LIQUOR LICENSE: Took no action meaning there were no objections to renewal of a liquor license by Lyons Ferry Marina.
- DUES: Approved paying dues to the National Association of Counties and the Blue Mountain RC amp; D. Unanimous for both.
- SALMON RECOVERY: Discussed Touchet River Geomorphic Assessment related to Snake River salmon recovery.
- BURN PERMITS: Approved local burn permitting authority cooperative agreement. Unanimous.
