Sept. 22, 1949 - Nov. 15, 2010
Rex E. Keenan, 61, of Walla Walla, died Nov. 15, 2010, at his home
surrounded by his family after a short courageous battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 22, 1949, in Seattle, the son of Eugene and Frances Keenan.
On April 23, 1972, he married Adele Castro. On July 2, 1994, he married his current loving wife, Michelle Ortiz Keenan.
He attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, Calif., for a time enjoying classes in forestry and then refrigeration. He was a jack of all trades, holding down a variety of jobs including his favorite and last job as maintenance supervisor for the port of entries in Northern Washington. He was involved for many years with voluntary fire departments in Copperopolis, Calif., and Angles Camp, Calif. He enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors, and spent a lot of time making improvements on his property using his man toys as
frequently as he could. Whether it was working hard around the house, fishing, or just eating a good meal he loved spending time with his wife and children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Rex is survived by his wife, Michelle Keenan; his five children, Matthew of Mariposa, Calif., Jaclyn of Erhard, Minn., Zachary, Andrew, Mara all of Walla Walla; and his parents, Eugene and Frances Keenan
of Angels Camp, Calif. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Austin, Kayley, and Kamryn, all of whom he was so proud of.
