Steven and Linda Meier of Milton-Freewater will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary on Dec. 14, 2010. They plan a trip in the spring for a further celebration.
The Meiers married Dec. 14, 1975, at Church of the Bretheren in Weston. Linda's maiden name is Case.
The couple met while both worked for Lamb Weston/Conagra Foods, in Weston. They have lived in their Milton-Freewater home since June 1976, after it was built for them by Steven's cousins David and Terry Peterson.
Steven works for Lamb Weston/Conagra. He was an aircraft maintenance specialist in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-1972. He enjoys sports and was a coach and umpire with youth softball and soccer.
Linda enjoys children and ran a day care for 18-plus years after leaving Lamb Weston and worked with the Awanna youth program at Bethel Baptist Church in Milton-Freewater for 18 years. She enjoys gardening and growing flowers and is a member of the Garden Club.
The Meiers have a daughter, Valerie Scott of Milton-Freewater; and three granddaughters, Kasey and Kelsi Cleveland and Kaylee Scott, all of Milton-Freewater. Steven's parents are Irvin and Thelma Meier of Hillsboro, Ore.
