  • Bernardo Fernandez, 17, 710 N. Ninth Ave. was sentenced Nov. 12 on one count violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-possession of less than 40 grams marijuana. The sentence included 20 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for 20 days served, 12 months community supervision, 40 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs. On Oct. 15, Fernandez pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of less than 40 grams marijuana.

  • Jonnathan L. Bender, 17, 401 N. Fourth Ave., was sentenced Nov. 12 on one count each driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs and obstructing a law enforcement officer. The sentence included 28 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for 28 days served, six months community supervision, 30 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs. On Oct. 29 Bender pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while under influence of or affected by any liquor or drug on Jan. 27 and obstructing a law enforcement officer in the discharge of his/her official duties on Aug. 2.
