WALLA WALLA -- A lockdown in the Washington State Penitentiary's West Complex living units was expected to continue through Monday afternoon.
The four close-custody units, Delta, Echo, Fox and Golf, were on restricted movement after two large fights between inmates, according to the six-day plan posted on the prison's Web site. Only inmates in Fox unit were to be allowed visitors over the weekend.
Delta and Echo units were locked down Monday after a fight between more than 20 inmates in the Delta unit dayroom. Fox and Golf units were locked down after a fight involving more than 50 inmates erupted in Golf unit on Nov. 14.
According to information released by officials, each unit houses 187 inmates.
