$n$ Festival of Mini-Trees starts Dec. 1

Junior Club of Walla Walla's third annual Festival of Mini-Trees and silent auction will be held Dec. 1-14 in the lobby of the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center, 6 W. Rose St.

Thirty-five trees will be on display and up for bid. All money raised will be donated to the Junior Club core projects and scholarships.

The trees have been decorated by local businesses and artists such as Brights, Willow, Studio Opal, Marcus Whitman Hotel, Beehive Cut & Color Bar, Book & Game, Holly's Flowers, City Slickers Salon, Sew Pretty, Walla Walla Wine Works, Wine Valley Golf Club and L'Ecole No. 41 Winery and more.

Junior Club of Walla Walla serves the needs of several local non-profit organizations such as the Blue Mountain Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Children of Walla Walla, YWCA, Walla Walla Community Hospice and the Herring House, as well as scholarship funds for deserving local women.

Colby Burke, first vice president, said the club raised close to $2,000 for core projects and scholarships in 2009.
