PENDLETON -- A Weston woman who earlier pleaded guilty to three sex crimes against two boys last spring was sentenced Wednesday to nearly six years in prison.
Sara Joen Thompson, 41, was ordered to serve five years and 10 months, according to a news release by the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office. Circuit Court Judge Garry Reynolds also placed Thompson on about three years of post-prison supervision and required her to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
Thompson pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to two counts of second-degree sexual abuse for having intercourse with two children March 26, and to one count of luring a minor.
Weston police began investigating Thompson after receiving information from a mandatory reporter May 7. She was jailed on May 17 and a Umatilla County Grand jury handed up an indictment three days later.
