The political cartoon in the U-B of Nov. 16 shows the dinosaur of low fossil fuel prices taking a bite out of wind turbine production.
Cute, but not quite accurate.
The real bite out of wind turbine production comes from the fact the wind turbines are being built where the wind doesn't blow. Refer to Bonneville Power's website, where it is explained why wind power production has declined in recent years, even as the installed capacity has skyrocketed.
Where low fuel prices really take a bite, is from wind turbine construction, as the public gradually becomes aware of the absurdity of raising the cost of energy in order to construct windmills that produce no energy.
