WALLA WALLA - City Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday to discuss and possibly appoint a representative to the newly formed Joint Community Development Agency Board.
On Monday, Council approved the formation of the joint city/county department that will oversea most permit and planning services for both entities.
The merger of the city and county development departments is being done to allow both agencies to reduce staff and operate with smaller budgets.
Under the bylaws, the new city/county development agency will be headed by a three-person board, consisting of one person approved by the Walla Walla City Council, a second approved by Walla Walla County commissioners and a third person approved by both agencies.
The meeting will be held at City Hall, 15 N. Third Ave., 4 p.m. Public testimony will be taken.
