Weston-McEwen volleyball team remains unbeaten with duel win

ELGIN - Weston-McEwen kept its Blue Mountain Conference record unblemished with victories over Irrigon and Pilot Rock here Saturday

The TigerScots, 6-0 in league and 16-1 overall, posted a 25-7, 25-14, 25-14 triumph over Irrigon and followed it up with a 25-14, 25-13, 25-10 sweep of Pilot Rock

Statistical leaders for W-M were Morgan Entze with 23 assists and 11 kills; Jordan Reger with 23 assists; Tiffany Cain with 17 kills and seven aces; Renee Baumann with 14 kills and four aces; Katy West with six kills and two blocks; Jaymie Zimmerman with a 27-for-27 performance from the service line with five aces; Hayley Freske with eight kills and four blocks; Leanne Harnden with 14 digs; and Molly von Borstel with one kill.

"I was very pleased with our play," Weston-McEwen coach Shawn White said. "We were very consistent. We just stayed aggressive and didn't let anything bother us. Against Pilot Rock, we just kept the pressure up and executed all day."

The TigerScots host Elgin Thursday.
