FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Max Timm-Ballard's seventh-place finish in the 100 backstroke, the Wa-Hi 400 freestyle relay's eighth-place swim and Ballard's ninth in the 200 free highlighted the Blue Devils' effort at the Mukilteo Invitational at the King County Aquatic Center.
The meet, which featured more than 500 swimmers from 50 teams in all state classications, ran Friday and Saturday.
The 400 freestyle relay consisted of Timm-Ballard, Cheyenne Schone, Abby Crowley and Tori Jones.
Crowley also finished 17th in the 100 backstroke.
"A few other girls had really great swims," Wa-Hi coach Brad Daly said, named Jordan Barnett, Anna Reid, Andrea Hamada, Natalie Fink and Megan Evans.
"It was a good meet," he said. "The girls swam well. I didn't expect any break-through swims as we swam on Tuesday. It was a quick turnaround.
"Overall, I was pleased with our performance there."
Wa-Hi hosts the Palouse Invitational, with Cheney, Pullman and Clarkston, at Whitman College's Harvey Pool at noon Saturday.
