I am the president of the Los Angeles Police Protective League. The League was formed in 1923 and currently represents more than 9,900 dedicated and professional sworn members of the Los Angeles Police Department. The League serves to advance the interests of LAPD officers through legislative and legal advocacy, political action, and education.

I have known John A. Turner since 1993. We met serving in the same division of the Los Angeles Police Department in Hollywood. Many years later, John served as a panel attorney for the League, representing police officers.

Throughout the many years I have known John, I have always been extremely impressed by his honesty, integrity, courage, intelligence and compassion. I would not hesitate to recommend John for the position of Walla Walla County sheriff in 2010.

I am confident, and know from first-hand experience, that John possesses all of the important qualities needed to fill this demanding position. I could not imagine a more appropriate and likeable candidate than John A. Turner for this prestigious and honorable position.
