Symphony opens season with noted cellist Rosen

Internationally known cellist and Tchaikovsky Competition winner Nathanial Rosen will appear with the Walla Walla Symphony at its opening concert of the 2010-2011 season.

Called "A Cup of Rejoicing," the concert will be 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Cordiner Hall, Park Street, Whitman College campus. Maestro Yaacov Bergman will conduct "A Cup of Rejoicing," composed by the Symphony's principal trumpet William Berry; Sibelius' "Symphony No. 2 in D Major;" and Schumann's "Cello Concerto in A Minor," featuring Rosen on cello.
