WALLA WALLA - DeSales' volleyball team dropped a heartbreaker Thursday night to Liberty Christian at home 18-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-23, 15-13.
A victory would have evened the Irish's league record, but instead they fell to 3-5 on the year.
"Obviously with a game that close, it could have gone either way," said DeSales head coach Lori Blanc. "We really could have been done in three sets, but we just couldn't ever seem to close them out."
DeSales was led by 13 kills from Abby Larreau and 11 finishes from Annie Higgins. Stephanie Ferrel also added eight kills and Megan Moberg had five.
Chantel Blanc led the Irish with 30 assists, while Alex Buley was perfect from the service line, going 17-for-17.
DeSales next takes the court in the Weston-McEwen Tournament Saturday.
