POMEROY - Pomeroy improved to 8-1 in Southeast 1B volleyball play with a three-set victory over visiting Rosalia Thursday, 25-22, 25-12, 25-13.
"Rosalia led most of the first game, but we did a nice job coming back," Pirates coach Bruce Crossfield said. "We were down 15-8 and 18-12 in set one and came back to win. It (the deficit) was a combination of them doing good things and us struggling a little bit. We jumped all over them in games two and three."
Kendsey Bott had 13 kills and six blocks for Pomeroy, with Sydni Gormsen and Melissa Bartlow recording 12 and 11 assists, respectively.
Maddi Grimm was 23-of-24 serving with four aces, and Gormsen also picked up four aces.
Pomeroy, 14-4 overall, next travels to Lacrosse-Washtucna Tuesday.
"We're starting to gel in some ways, but we have things to work on in others," Crossfield said. "We got everybody in and everybody did a good job in the role they were in. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good night for us."
