STANFIELD, Ore. - Mac-Hi fell to Baker on the road in the Stanfield Pink Tournament Saturday.
The Pioneers lost in straight sets, 25-7, 25-11 and 25-10.
"Baker is a great-hitting team and on some of their hits, there was nothing we could do anything about," said Pioneer coach Kaila Rodighiero. "But my girls tried and never gave up which was awesome to watch."
Mac-Hi had three serving aces and Destiny Kilburg led with two. Nicole Richmand led the Pioneer's five kills with two of her own and Megan Reed, Cheyenne Kessler and Jolen Brannan contributed one each.
Richman had four blocks, Avery Wells put up two and Brannan had one.
"When you have a young team going up against a powerhouse like Baker, you expect to see intimidation and defeat, but I didn't see that in my girls at all. They may have lost, but they lost with dignity," Rodighiero said.
