PREP VOLLEYBALL - Weston-McEwen girls second in Power Volleyball Tourney


ATHENA - The TigerScots earned their second-place finish in the Power volleyball Tournament Saturday

The TigerScots lost to Faith Bible in the finals 25-20, 20-25, and 11-15.

W-M previously beat Faith Bible in pool play earlier in the day, 25-14, 19-25 and 25-23.

The other main challenger for W-M was Elgin, which the TigerScots played twice in pool play in the seven-team tourney.

W-M defeated the Huskies both times.

Morgan Entze led the TigerScots with 57 assists and Jordan Reger had 52. Tiffany Cain spiked 50 kills and had 10 aces. Katy West recorded seven kills and nine blocks. Haley Freske slammed down 11 blocks and had 12 kills. Molly Von Borstel had 3 kills and a block. LeAnne Harnden picked up 32 digs and MacKayla Carlin 10. Renee Baumann scored 40 kills and 16 aces.

Serving specialist Jaymie Zimmerman had seven digs and was 44-48 in serves with five aces.

W-M is now 7-0 in league and 18-2 in match play.

They play again at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Union
