Michael John Fullerton, 311 Parkview, Milton-Freewater, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at Regency at the Park, College Place, from complications of metastasized melanoma cancer, at age 56.
Michael was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, to Norman and Hazel Fullerton. Early in life he immigrated with his family to Canada where they lived in Edmonton, Alberta. At age 5 his family moved to Milton-Freewater. Michael graduated from Mac-Hi in 1972, enjoying his participation in sports, such as football and tennis, and having a particular interest in academics, especially mathematics. Michael attended the University of Oregon and then worked in Portland for several years. His interest and work in Scientology took him to Los Angeles where he lived for 30 years, working for the Church of Scientology and in sales. Whatever the job, Michael valued his interaction with others and believed in the ethics of excellent customer service. He also enjoyed buying used cars that he worked on and resold. Some of Michael's other interests included reading and learning, analyzing problems, visiting with others, science, psychology, business, world affairs and sports. He particularly enjoyed travel and being in areas of mountains and rivers, with a special love of the Blue Mountains.
Due to ill health, Michael moved to Milton-Freewater in March 2010, spending his last months in the loving care and support of his family.
Michael is survived by his parents of Milton-Freewater, Norman and Hazel Fullerton; sister, Jane (Jan) Kilburg, also of Milton-Freewater, sister Helen (Robert) Ward of Tigard; brother, James (Madeline) Fullerton of Kings Beach, Nev.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces.
