LACROSSE - Pomeroy volleyball handed Lacrosse-Washtucna a three-set loss Tuesday.
The Pirates took straight 25-19, 25-12 and 28-26 victories.
Kendsey Bott led the Pirates with 11 kills and seven stuff blocks. Delaney Monahan also had seven stuff blocks. Hailey Koehler was 15-of-15 from the serving line with four aces.
The Pioneers won the first two games handily, but got behind in the third.
"They came out a lot more aggressive," said coach Bruce Crossfield. "We were down 21-12 and managed to come back and get them.
"We came out kind of slow in that third game."
The Pirates are 15-4 overall and 9-1 in league.
They travel to Garfield-Palouse - the only team they've lost to - Thursday, and host Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia, which is tied with Pomeroy for first, Tuesday.
"We've got a couple of pretty important matches coming up," Crossfield said.
