WALLA WALLA -- The architect for the new Walla Walla Police Department building has identified the apparent low bidder on the project.
A Spokane company, TW Clark Construction, submitted the lowest offer of $6,105,500, an amount that included a base bid and alternates chosen by the City Council. The findings by Integrus Architecture, the project architect, will be presented to Council at its Oct. 27 meeting, according to Monte Puymon, engineering associate with the city Public Works Department.
The firm was one of 12 that submitted bids for the new police station. Bids were opened in September. The engineer's estimate on the new building was about $7.3 million.
The new station will be funded by proceeds from a bond proposition approved by voters in August 2009. Plans call for a structure totaling 28,000 square feet to be erected at Second Avenue and Moore Street.
