LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Turner will work well with WW police

In a few days the citizens of Walla Walla County are going to be making an important decision in electing a new sheriff. In my opinion there is only one clear choice, and that is to elect John Turner as the new sheriff of Walla Walla County.

When I met John I was immediately impressed with his vision for the future of the Sheriff's Office. He has clear and attainable goals that I feel he will make happen. John has a genuine interest to serve the citizens and having a working relationship with other law enforcement agencies within the county as well.

John is not bound by the old thinking or past practices of the Sheriff's Office and is clearly looking to move forward with programs and services that will bring a lot of positives to the department and its employees.

It will be nice to have a real cop in the position of sheriff and one whom my department, the Walla Walla Police Department, will be able to work and interact with on a positive level.

John Turner has spent his career in service, from working as a city police officer, to serving in Iraq with our nation's military and I am positive he will serve with honor and respect as the sheriff of Walla Walla County. I support John Turner for sheriff and encourage everyone to do so as well.
