Mary Nauenburg, 92, of Walla
Walla, died Wednesday, October 6,
2010, at Park Manor Rehabilitation
She was born in Walla Walla,
June 11, 1918 the daughter of Jesse
and Ella (Thornton) Ashworth.
She attended Maxson School in
rural Walla Walla and graduated
from Walla Walla High School
in 1936. She married Eugene
Nauenburg on October 25, 1936 in
Walla Walla. In 1943, she moved with her family to Southern
California and returned to the Walla Walla area in 1991. She
was a homemaker most of her life and loved gardening and was
an avid crocheter. She enjoyed doing needlework, crafts and
baking for her family and friends. She was a member of Central
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Eugene
Nauenburg; one great-grandchild; her parents; two sisters,
Thelma Rohn and Anna Stewart; two brothers, Edmond
Lee Ashworth and Leonard Ashworth; and a half brother
She is survived by her son James and daughter-in-law
Chestine of Riverside, California; her son Donald of Pagosa
Springs, Colorado; and her daughter Sandra Hay of Fullerton,
California; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Inurnment will be in the Garden Mausoleum of Mountain
View Cemetery in Walla Walla.
Graveside service will be at
11am Saturday, October 23, 2010.
