Grace Presbyterian Church in M-F to hear peacemaker speak

MILTON-FREEWATER - International Peacemaker Brenda Celia Trinidad Espitia will speak at Grace Presbyterian Church, 703 S. Main St., at 11 a.m. today and at a potluck afterward. Espitia will share how the Presbyterian Church of Mexico proclaims Christ in poverty, injustice and violence and how the U.S. affects and is affected by the violence. Espitia graduated from Presbyterian Pan American School in Kingsville, Texas, and is an active member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Toluca, Mexico. to present ‘Not Ashamed'

WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla City Church, 2133 S. Howard St., will host "Not Ashamed," with Mike Riddle of Answers in Genesis.

Topics today are: Is Genesis Relevant Today, at 6:30 p.m. and Apologetics 101: Answering the Challenges, 7:45 p.m.

On Monday, 4 Power Questions to Ask an Evolutionist, will be at 6:30 p.m. and Cloning, Stem Cells and Life 7:45 p.m.

mark World Community Day

WALLA WALLA - Church Women United's World Community Day celebration will be Nov. 5 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1520 Pleasant St. A Bible study and discussion will be 9:30 a.m.; the program will be 11 a.m. The theme, "Building the Beloved Community," is based on Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of a world in which people work together in a commitment in peace. Seventh-, eighth-graders set pancake, waffle breakfast

MILTON-FREEWATER - Milton-Stateline Adventist School seventh- and eighth-graders will host an all-you-can-eat community pancake and waffle breakfast, 8-10 a.m. Nov. 7, at the Stateline Adventist Church Friendship Center, 53565 W. Crockett Road. Donations will be accepted for the meal. All proceeds are for the passage trip and the celebration. The trip gives graduates the opportunity to reflect on their elementary years and set goals for high school. For details, call 509-540-0747.
