PREP VOLLEYBALL — Weston-McEwen picks up trio of weekend wins

ATHENA - Weston-McEwen's volleyball team scored a trio of wins over the weekend, beating Union on the road and Heppner and Stanfield at home.

The TigerScots beat Union 25-23, 25-17, 25-16 Friday, and Heppner 25-16, 25-17, 25-23 before dropping Stanfield 25-12, 25-10, 25-15 in the night cap.

"I'm very proud of our consistency," said W-P head coach Shawn White. "We never let our errors mount in any of the contests, and we did a great job of preventing runs by the other team."

Weston McEwen was led by 32 assists, eight kills and seven blocks from Morgan Entze, 23 assists and four aces from Jordan Reger and 25 kills from Tiffany Cain in Saturday's twin bill. Renee Baumann added 22 kills and 23 digs, while Katy West notched two kills and seven blocks.

"These were good wins for us," White said. "We're really clicking with districts not too far away."

The TigerScots now stand 10-0 in league play and 21-2 overall heading into a match at Enterprise Thursday.
