PRESCOTT - Waitsburg-Prescott's soccer team's perfect season continued Monday afternoon with a dominating 8-0 win over Walla Walla Valley Academy in its final regular-season home game of the year to run the team's mark to 13-0.
"Our kids really dominated the game, especially the varsity in the first half," said W-P assistant coach Bart Baxter. "We only let them onto our side of the field once or twice when we had our varsity out there."
Waitsburg-Prescott got four goals from Lino Diaz and a pair from both Omar Virgen and Jose Esquivel. Virgen also added a pair of assists and Diaz, Francisco Gonzalez and Miguel Velazco each had one dish each.
"This is such a talented team," Baxter said. "That's why we pushed so hard to have a soccer team at the high school level because it would be a shame to waste this much talent."
Waitsburg-Prescott now stands at No. 3 in the state and hits the field again, under the lights, in Dayton tonight.
