DeSales volleyball bounces Waitsburg-Prescott in three sets

WALLA WALLA - DeSales' volleyball team dropped Waitsburg-Prescott in straight sets at home Tuesday, 25-17, 25-18, 25-19.

Abby Larreau led the Irish with eight kills and Megan Moberg notched six more. Annie Higgins chipped in four finishing shot and Stephanie Ferrel finished with three.

"It was an important game for us as far as getting into position for the Districts," said DeSales head coach Lori Blanc. "We were able to handle the first two sets pretty well, but they jumped out on us 9-3 in the third. I give our girls a lot of credit for sticking with it and finishing out the game."

Chantel Blanc tallied the high assist night for DeSales with 20.

W-P was led by seven kills by Krystal Harris, six from Alyssa Hafen, five finishes from Amanda Cook and four more from Katy Hofer.

Ronnie Hulce added three kills and two blocks, while Kayla Huxoll led W-P with 17 assists.

W-P travels to Tri-Cities Prep while DeSales hosts Dayton. Both games begin at 7 p.m. Thursday.
