BAKER CITY - Baker defeated Mac-Hi in straight sets at home Tuesday, 8-25, 16-25, 13-25.

Megan Reed served 12-for-13 with an ace, and Cheyenne Kessler served 7-for-7, also with an ace.

Mac-Hi had 21 hits but only four kills, three belonging to Jayme Freemantle and one from Jolene Brannan.

"I think Baker expected to walk all over us, but they didn't," said Mac-Hi head coach Kaila Rodighiero. "We had a really good pre-game talk, and I handed that talk over to the captains. They decided to come out intense from the very beginning. The girls were loud and intense and even the crowd was getting into it. This was by far the most energetic game they've played all season. My girls made Baker work for their points but covering holes, thinking how Baker would react to plays and adjusting to what Baker gave them."
