WWVA wins in five sets at Liberty Christian

RICHLAND - Walla Walla Valley Academy won a five set nail-biter at Liberty Christian Tuesday, winning 16-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-21, 15-12.

WWVA was led by 19 assists from Brooklyn Larson, 16 kills by Brianna Leen, a 19-for-20 service night with four aces for Sandy Avalos and nine digs from Kelsie Schafer.

"It was an up and down games," said WWVA head coach Scott Schafer. "We been fighting the flu bug, and I think that hurt our energy, but I'm proud of our girls for battling through it and winning."

WWVA now stands at 6-4 in league play, and the team is next on the court Tuesday at DeSales.
