PREP VOLLEYBALL - Weston-McEwen picks up two wins

PILOT ROCK - Weston-McEwen's volleyball team picked up another pair of wins Saturday, dropping Pilot Rock, 25-7, 25-19, 25-12 and Irrigon 25-10, 25-11, 25-18 at Pilot Rock.

Morgan Entze led the TigerScots with 17 assists, 15 kills and seven aces, while Jordan Reger added 28 assists. Tiffany Cain knocked home 18 kills with three aces, and Renee Baumann had 10 kills and six aces.

The TigerScots also got seven aces from Jaymie Zimmerman and nine kills and three aces from Haley Freske.

"We got a lot of great performances from our team, but I have to point out the defense we got from LaAnne Harnden and McKayla Carlin," said W-M head coach Shawn White. "They really helped carry us in both games."

The win gives the TigerScots the league title heading into their regular season finale Tuesday at Elgin.

"This was our homecoming week and a long week in general for our girls," White said. "I'm proud of how they responded. This is a good place for us to be right now."

W-M is now 24-2 overall and 13-0 in league play. Districts for the TigerScots begin on Saturday.
