Susan Arlene Harris, age 56 years, resident of the Grandview Health Care in Grandview, Wash., died Sept. 30, 2010. Memorial services were held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at the United Brethren Church with Pastor Greg Brownell officiating. She was born Oct. 8, 1953, in Dayton. Her parents were Roy and Lois Payne Harris. She graduated from Dayton High School with the class of 1970, and from Central Washington University with a masters degree in education. She was employed at the Buckley School for children with special needs and was a consultant and teacher for the Tacoma School District, which included Hilltop and Brown's Point Schools. She was a member of the Teachers Union. She enjoyed taking walks in Point Defiance Park and the waterfront, traveling in British Columbia, collecting Precious Moments ceramics and Christmas ornaments and gifting to her nieces, nephews and friends.
Susan is survived by a half sister, Linda Haisley of Spokane; her aunt, May Harting of Dayton; four cousins, Lynn Williams, Duane Startin and Laurel Goodwater all of Dayton, and Larry Turner of Burbank; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
