Bow to Bill White.
I have been a police officer for over 22 years with the Walla Walla Police Department. I was the president of the Fraternal Order of Police Blue Mt. Lodge No. 9 for six years. I have known Capt. Bill White for over 28 years.
I write this letter because of the experience that I have with Bill. I recall going on calls with Bill when he was a road deputy. I learned from him how to deal with unreasonable people. Bill is always professional and treats people with respect. This is just one of Bill's talents.
From 1995 to 2000, I worked in the Walla Walla City/County Drug Unit. Bill was in charge of dispersing funds. Bill is the kind of person who you would not have to call ahead and make an appointment to see. He has an open door policy.
While in the drug unit, issues were always heard and handled in a timely manner by Bill. I consider myself a deputy/police officer because of the tight knit relationship I have with the deputies. I consider them my brothers and sisters in law enforcement.
Bill has been behind the scenes at the Sheriff's Office, but deserves much more credit than he has received. There have been several sheriffs during my tenure as a Law Enforcement officer. I believe Bill is the right person to be sheriff for Walla Walla County.
Bill will continue to serve the citizens of Walla Walla County with his diligent nature and his 30-plus years of experience.
The sheriff is responsible for many duties such as administering the county jail, courtroom security, prisoner transport, serving arrest warrants and service of civil process, just to name a few. All of this in addition to supervising the patrol/investigation side of the office.
When I say I "bow" to Bill White it is for the up most respect I learned from my Hispanic culture. Join me and cast your vote for Bill White.
